Fallbrook Vintage Car Show 30th Anniversary

Commemorative Poster 1995
“Best In Show”
Limited Edition Print – By Artist Ken Eberts
24”w by 20”h – 1,500 Signed and Numbered

This is the 11th in a series of limited edition posters commemorating the Annual Vintage Car Show in Fallbrook, California.

For the 8th year, world-renowned artist Ken Eberts created the artwork for the poster, which was produced by Hal McCoy of Fallbrook. This year’s poster captures the spirit of the show on its 30th anniversary.
Eberts had some fun with the painting for the poster, incorporating elements from past car shows into one setting at the traditional location for the show, the ball fields of Fallbrook High School. The car featured in the poster is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, owned by Jess Henry, who can be seen in the background of the painting, chatting with Miss Falbrook, Kerith Stiles-Graeber. Henry is a familiar and popular face in Fallbrook, serving up treats at his Yogurt Palace on Main Street. For fun, Eberts included an attractive local woman holding up. the 1987 poster next to the car, which featured Henry’s Bel Air from a rear angle. Another local icon, Fallbrook Enterprise photographer Dick O’Brien, can be seen crouching to get a shot in his annual coverage of the show. Behind him, a self-portrayal of Eberts himself can be seen leaning on a modified 1949 Mercury which was a subject of a past poster.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Show started as a Model-A Club event in the mid-50’s, with an original membership of five people who met in the showroom of the Fallbrook Tractor Co. It then evolved into the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, a local chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

The car show now features 13 categories, including one for motorcycles. The club makes annual donations from show proceeds to local charity organizations and to Fallbrook High School.

Poster Artwork by Ken Eberts…

A quote by William Jeanes, Automobile Magazine, aptly describes Ken Eberts’ paintings:

“Ken’s realistic, highly detailed technique creates scenes of America’s past that, once seen, somehow becomes a part of one’s own past. His work, with such titles as Our House on The Corner of Oak Street, has a deja vu quality that may make you say to yourself, ‘I’ve been there before.’ The places are real, the cars are real, and the details of his settings are painstakingly accurate. Yet the moments never actually happened…or did they?”

Over the-last 25 years more than 1,000 original paintings by Ken Eberts have become part of public and private art collections worldwide.

An historian as well as an artist, his paintings portray the history of America’s transportation and architecture.

Known for his detailed realism, his watercolor and gouache paintings make you feel as if you could walk into the past.

In addition to having over 30 one-artist shows, Ken has won many prestigious awards. His paintings have been on Leanin’ Tree Christmas cards for the past 20 years, and as posters for the New York Auto Show, Christie’s, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and many, many more.
